Getting too far out in front of the news-cycle Getting too far out in front of the news-cycle

Tim Blair has some great commentors on his blog titled "Out of Truth" about the egregiously misnamed TruthOut.org's claim over a week ago that Karl Rove had been indicted:

Harry Buttle:
I like it and will use a modified version.

If I decide to knock off work early and go home, when busted, I’ll just say “I erred in getting too far out in front of the work-cycle”.
yojimbo:
I really don’t consider this a disservice to their readers anyway.

Their site should probably change the name to:
Wishfulthinking.nut
Whatwearehopingfor.nut
Ourperfektstorm.looney
richard mcenroe:
So reporting things that haven’t actually happened is ‘getting ahead of the news cycle.’ That’s not what the nuns used to call it in second grade...
JorgXMcKie:
Well, give them a break. Jason Leopold’s only been wrong in his prediction of Rove getting indicted, what, about 15 times? It’s not like you can expect him to get it right every time, can you?
