A Defiant Stance In Jefferson Probe A Defiant Stance In Jefferson Probe

Things are getting nutso in the Wm. Jefferson fiasco. In a WaPo article, titled: A Defiant Stance In Jefferson Probe, the three top DoJ officials: AG Gonzales; his deputy, Paul J. McNulty; and FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III, all threatened to resign, or were willing to be fired, if the evidence seized under warrant from Jefferson's Congressional offices was given up by the President.

So, the President is really between a rock and a hard place here. The Speaker of the House is going berserk over this, trying to get the evidence back, while his top three DoJ officials are threatening to resign if he does - all in his own party.
