Signing statements: It's a president's right Signing statements: It's a president's right

Signing statements: It's a president's right - The Boston Globe article criticizes the ABA for taking to task President Bush for his signing statements. The liberal advocacy group (which conveniently, but falsely, claims to represent the legal profession) ignores a long history of presidential signing statements. It also ignores that courts typically give these signing statements very short shrift when interpreting statutes - significantly less even than what Congress said on the matter.
